Golf Knight 2024
Fellow Brother Knights Golfers,
Welcome to the second season of the KofC Golf League, where prayers and fun are far more critical than swanky golf clubs or top-notch shoes. We are reaching out to share information on the league and our plan for the season.
Location/Time/Attendance - We will play nine holes weekly at the 1781 Club in McMurray, PA. We have reserved tee times beginning at 5 PM each Tuesday evening. We are switching formats this year and asking men to commit to playing each week. It is fine to miss a week periodically, but we would like a commitment. Our first week will be Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
Alternate Players - If you cannot commit to playing each week, we would still love for you to play if there is room. Open tee times will be listed at https://bit.ly/GolfKnights2024 and are available on a first-come, first-to-play basis.
Scoring - We are not launching with any degree of competition, but we ask that you turn in scorecards for your foursome to Tom or Lou. We plan some tournaments later in the year and will use the scores for handicaps. If you already have an official PGA handicap, you should probably consider playing in another league.
New Members - New members are welcome. Don't hesitate to get in touch with Tom or Lou if interested. We are actively looking for young men to golf in this league to be around KOC men and plant seeds of interest in joining the knights.
Knights of Columbus Membership - This is highly encouraged. If you are not a member, we will pray that you choose to join by the end of the season. The K of C is a Catholic Men’s Fraternal Organization, and our Council is active in spiritual, service, and fraternal activities. If you’re not a member, we want you to be, and you can join using the link below. Please use Dave Barone’s member number (4944896) as your recruiter so he gets credit and earns a patch - https://bit.ly/kofc3084join.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Hit them long and straight!
God Bless and Thank You,
Tom Kress (Commissioner) and Lou Reda (Assistant to the Commissioner)
