Bishop Mark Eckman Appointed 13th Bishop of Pittsburgh

The Knights of Columbus Council 3084 joyfully joins the Diocese of Pittsburgh in celebrating the appointment of Most Reverend Mark A. Eckman as the 13th Bishop of Pittsburgh.

The announcement, made on June 4 by the Holy See, is a moment of great pride for our council and community. Bishop Eckman is not only a faithful servant of Christ but also a familiar and beloved leader to many of our members. As the former pastor of Resurrection Parish, a parish served by Council 3084, his pastoral care, humility, and leadership have left a lasting impression on our council and the faithful of the South Hills.

Ordained a priest in 1985, Bishop Eckman has spent nearly four decades serving the Church of Pittsburgh with devotion and integrity. His new appointment is a recognition of his steadfast commitment to the Gospel and his deep love for the people of this region.

We offer our heartfelt prayers and support to Bishop Eckman as he begins this new chapter in his ministry. Council 3084 stands ready to serve the Church under his guidance and to continue building up our parish communities in faith, charity, and unity.
