A Faithful Knight Remembered: SK Ed Friedrick (PGK)

It is with sadness that we share the passing of our brother and Sir Knight, Ed Friedrick, who entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 96.

Ed was a remarkable example of faithful service, both to his family and to the Order. A Knight for 75 years, he was initiated in 1951, served as Grand Knight in 1970, and remained a loyal and active member throughout his life. His commitment to our principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism was evident in all that he did.

Beyond his service to the Knights, Ed was a devoted husband to his wife Kathy, with whom he recently celebrated 59 years of marriage, a loving father and grandfather, and a man of deep faith who served as an usher for decades both here in Pittsburgh and later in South Carolina.

We invite all brothers who are able to join us in honoring Ed’s life and praying for the repose of his soul:

Funeral Mass - Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Our Lady of Hope Parish – Nativity Church
5811 Curry Road
Pittsburgh, PA 15236

Please keep Ed, Kathy, and the entire Friedrick family in your prayers during this time. May we take inspiration from his life of service and strive to follow his example. His obituary is available here.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

Vivat Jesus,

Dave Barone (GK)
SK Douglas Derda (DGK)
